Hi there everyone, My name is Anastasia Samsonova. I am a certified freelance makeup artist for Rice Photography Boudoir! I started my journey with Christy and Tamalei back in May of 2015. My passion for art and makeup started at a young age. Growing up I loved to draw and paint, and then one year I received a makeup kit from Walmart, and fell in love! I have been wearing makeup since the sixth grade, crazy I know, but hey, It’s my passion and my profession! Makeup allows me to get out of my element and create something extraordinary. There’s nothing that I love more then to make people feel beautiful, with love and the power of makeup!
I currently attend Baker University, studying Business with a concentration in Marketing and Advertising with a minor in Public Relations. My goal is to create my own cosmetics line by the time I am 30! Whoot Whoot. I also run my own business and blog, Anastasia Samsonova Beauty, where I am a freelance makeup artist, teach different makeup techniques, and much more. I’m also a farmers market vendor at Overland Park Farmers Market! My grandmother creates different jams, jellies, salsa, pesto, chutney, and preserves, while I create made to order gourmet crepes! All so delicious! In my free time I just love to do my homework (just kidding). I spend a lot of my time hanging out with my fur babies, Marshall and Oliver. I spend a lot of time with my grandma, who is the funniest, strongest, most loving woman in the world. Shes my best friend, role model, and has raised me to be the woman I am today! Oh, I enjoy the outdoors, building and restoring furniture, and of course doing my makeup!
With that being said, I hope you all got a little piece of who I am, and I hope you enjoy your time with Rice Photography! Christy and Tamalei are amazing, genuine people, who make everyone who leaves feel confident and beautiful.
MAKEUP FAQ & SKIN PREP
How long does a makeup application take? A typical makeup application takes 45 minutes to 75 minutes depending on the service(s) requested.
How long does the makeup stay on? The average makeup application is applied and guaranteed to last 6 hours, however makeup may last 8+ hours. Everything will remain in tact under normal climate and conditions, your natural oils may “shine” giving you that extra natural glow, and lipstick may need to be reapplied throughout the day.
Should I do anything to my face prior to my makeup appointment? YES! I recommend prepping your skin a week before your photo shoot. Properly exfoliating can reduce redness, irritation, will remove dead skin and allows for a more even makeup application. Finding the proper moisturizer for your skin type will help with dryness and oil production, etc. I also recommend hydrating your lips with a lip product of your choosing. It is also best if your contacts are applied prior to your makeup application if needed. If you are not wanting to prep a week before your shoot, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize the night before your shoot.
